defining love the 'i keep love real' way
They say Love is as old as time itself. People are born to love and to be loved. It might be safe to say that love is very much a part of us, inherent in every person, an essential ingredient for life. But no matter how much love makes this world go round, people still confuse love with something else or misunderstand its real meaning. Love is present, felt, and known, yet it somehow remains a mystery. What is it really? Is it a feeling? A phenomenon? A school of thought perhaps? And how does one really tell if that Love is Real or Not?As an iKLR supporter, I believe that love can be defined as L.O.V.E. Still don’t get it? Here… let me show you…^_^
Yes, you guessed it right… more acronyms!! It’s a fun-filled week!
Love can actually be defined simply by its very acronyms. You see…
L Means “Lasting”. It means love stands till the very end. It is not bound by time. It has a beginning but never an ending. Love is not a feeling which disappears when time spoils it. It remains “Real” throughout the entire relationship.
O Means “Other-centered”, it is not selfish. Focus of love is not the person himself but the other person. Love is more on giving, rather than receiving or expecting something in return. It is about giving the other person the best you can give him or her. “Real” love is achieved when you give too much love that in the process, you eventually forget about yourself and think only of the welfare of the other person.
V Means “Value”. Love values the other person and doesn’t use him or her. Love means valuing the other person as a human being, not an object. It is accepting the other person for who he or she really is. It is about total acceptance, including the not so interesting qualities.

E Means “Expects nothing in return”. They say money can’t buy love. I definitely agree with this. One cannot simply calculate costs in love. Love can’t easily be measured. In love, nobody should expect anything in return when loving someone. It is up to the other person’s free will if he or she will reciprocate that love.
Love is a choice. It is a decision.
For me, this is the best definition of LOVE - “REAL LOVE”. What do you guys think?
