February 14th. Valentine's Day. The 2nd most celebrated event after Christmas.
Lovers send or give each other Valentine's cards, chocolates, bouquet of flowers, and some balloons. They say love is in the air. Restaurants offer special Romantic dinners, shops sell different Valentine's gifts, lovers wear red garments and people greeting each other A Happy Valentine's Day.
Yes, the romantic feeling is there. Happiness is all around. But do people really know the reason why we celebrate Valentine's Day? Valentine's was further strengthened by commercialism, that's why it is being celebrated by the world. Historically, Valentine's Day is a Roman Catholic Holiday. We are supposed to be celebrating the Day of St. Valentine.
During the 3rd century a priest by the name of Valentine, under Claudius II in Rome, secretly disobeyed the law. Claudius had come to believe that a single soldier was a better soldier than a married young man and so decided to outlaw marriage in order to have plenty young strong men with no wives at his disposal. Valentine, the priest, did not obey this law and continued to celebrate the holy bond of marriage for young couples in secrecy. Of course, the way it always works with secret clauses, he was caught and sent to his death.
Valentine's day was celebrated in honor of St. Valentine who went out of his way to preserve Love, marriage, and family. He believed in Love and secretly married couples. Today, we honor his heroic feat in defending and fighting for Real LOVE. So always remember St. Valentine's this season. He is the reason for this 2nd most celebrated event of the year.
Happy Valentine's Season Everyone!!! Spread the Real Love Revolution!!!
